Wholesale vs Retail: How Buying By The Crate Saves You Money
3 August 2026 · 1 min read
If you're reselling, buying single bottles is quietly eating your margin. Here's the maths.
A lot of small shops still restock a few bottles at a time. It feels safer, but it costs you.
Buy a crate and the unit price drops immediately. Buy ten crates and delivery is free on top of that. On a fast-moving line like Coca-Cola, that gap is the difference between a thin margin and a real one.
The other half of it is availability: when you buy small, you run out on the busy days — exactly when your customers would have bought most. Stock deeper on the lines you know move, and keep the shallow orders for the slow ones.
Come and talk to us about a standing weekly delivery. We'll work out your usual quantities and just bring them, same day each week.
